aftermarket steering wheels

firstly-
will a boss kit for an ra60/sa63/ra65 fit an ma61 supra? it seems the autotechnica boss kit guide says they won't.
and secondly-
i want an aftermarket wheel because the ma61 wheel is big and thin- and i'd like something a bit sportier. my dilemma is, that i also want it to look 'like its supposed to be there'... so supra badges and anything else design-wise that makes it look mid-80s would be preferable...
this is where i ask everyone to post pics of their aftermarket steering wheels, preferably in ma61s or 80s style cars (ae86s, aw11s, rollas, celicas, cressidas etc) so i can get an idea of whats out there
thanks for reading that nonsensical rant

no it will not.
you will need to tack the old brass horn contact ring from the old wheel ontop of the one on the bosskit for it to work, as the radius of the bosskit ring is about half an inch to big.
heres my wheel.

Why doesn't the Autotechnica one fit? What stops it from working? I've got one I was planning to use, it's in the car now.
I've got an old MOMO leather steering wheel which I'm using: http://iamfrank.ath.cx/xx/images/original/images/i nterior2.jpg
Looks much better than that now it's all cleaned up

In what way does the Autotechnica one not fit? I'd really like to know what it is I'm going to come across! It's on now, where is it going to foul?

With the Autotechica one that Autobahn ordered for me, it did not fit the spline of the steering column, after million times Autobahn saying that it does fit, i invited them to jump in the SA63 and try and get the kit on, to there suprise it did not fit, they retracted their comment and got me the SAAS one that I actually ordered...
As for the MA70 wheel, you can fit it, but you have to make the steering plastic shoud thingy larger around the spline to fit the wheel, well that is from my understanding from the CS.com forum.
Cheers.

If an MA70 one fits (with a bit of fiddling) then try to get your hands on a jza70R wheel - they're actually Momo wheels with leather trim and a big rubber middle bit that says "Supra". You can take the rubber bit off and see the yellow momo horn button in the middle if you like. Best combination of sporty wheel with Supra logo (and thus no RTA/VicRoads hassle) that I can think of. With all the halfcuts that have come in they shouldn't be too hard to find. That said they only came in the jza70r so may be a little harder.

Hate to hijack the thread (slightly) but:
I have a random aftermarket wheel and boss kit on my ma61 and whenever I am doing three point turns (ie, using the full rotation of the wheel) a squealy metallic groan comes from the area where the boss goes inside the steering column plastic casing.
Without pulling the whole steering area apart, can anyone tell me what needs to be lubricated in this general area or whats causing this?
cheers...
p.s. How do ya take off a boss kit from the steering shaft (after the large nut is removed)?

i'd say its in the rack/pump. i have known a number of ma61's to make that awful noise. sometimes a top up of fluid makes it go away. i dunno what it is.
just jiggle the boss and pull hard. it will come off eventually.
