Are you sure the hilux has a 2r? or is it a 12 R, either way look at the thread on the rt40, where i replaced the 2r with an 18rg, however, being a hilux im really not qualified to answer, but there may be possibilities of a x-member swap. not sure...

are you doing motor+ box or just motor? as the both engines 'should' bolt to the same bellhousing (being 'R' series engines)?

and why not dump the column shift and go 5sp W50 (that would come with 18R 5ps fro ma celica) and cut a hole in the floor?

You're probably up for different tailshaft (length) if you go from 4sp to 5sp?

cheers,

yea, but toyota's really are big boys lego..I did the 2r + 4spd to 18rgeu + w55 and the tailshaft from a slightly later model corona fitted perfectly Smile...

Also the 12R will bolt to the standard box, however the 18r will not.

Cheers
Logan
