Has anyone installed an oil cooler on a 4AGZE using a sandwich plate between block and filter to tap oil lines off to feed to cooler. I am having a problem finding anyone who can sell sandwich plate adapter although everyone can supply oil cooler. Any suggestions as to where I can get hold of sandwich plate or do I have to look at making one out of some billet aluminium?

If you are in Sydney, Motorsport Connections in Seven Hills can hook you up with the goods.

Most Revolution Racegear stores will sell you a sandwich plate, for about $60.
YOu can also get a 4AGE oil cooler sandwich plate from Toyota which has an inbuilt thermostatic valve. But you need a return plumbed back into the sump for that to work.

i bought an oil cooler, sandwhich plate, lines AND sump all for $30 from a pick and payless of a corolla.
you can get these parts from: ae82 twincam, ae92 SX, late model ae92 with 4afe, ae95 4wd corolla and they all interchange with 4A series motors.

I fitted a billet sandwich plate (the cast one is too big to fit) from Motorsport Connections with no dramas. It is threaded for brass hose fittings, so you can choose whether the hoses come out straight, 45 or 90 degrees to suit your setup.
