plumed in fire system sparco seats with trip
5 speed quaife box
hilux diff with lsd
blowen engine with head and cams not sure of cams size
very clean shell but has been sectioned at a time "who cares"
old motec computer
16 wheels light pod and car trailer
platform bilsteins front and shocks rear
fully seam welded tip to toe
need rough idea of what this is worth as it can be purchaced
of a friend of a friend
no rego as it has been of the dirt for a few years

thats pretty hard to judge without seeing the condition of the chasis and knowing exact details of the engine, comes with a trailer which is a bonus though.. whats he asking? does it come with Log books?

Has it got a cams logbook sexy 16? What about all the engineering approvals? This is usually the stuff that blows the budget to obtain 'cos if it doesn't comply with the standards then you've gotta make it comply and without the paperwork/approvals it's worth nothing. How much time is left on the harnesses? Is all the rally equipment still in it ie. distance measuring, intercom etc. ? For a decent car "ready to go" you'd have to be prepared to pay 10k or more, plus a decent trailer is worth up to 3k, spares are worth nothing they're just a bit of a sweetener. Plenty of wheels though, they're always handy.

going over tomorrow evening to buy this car regardless it has cams log books he says i imagine that the harnesses are ok the car was built new in 1993 and never seen nuch use really dosent have intercom trailer is un reg and pretty crappy trip is pretty dated also a good 1 of these is really worth 10 grand
the best 1 in the country was a guy in canbera who built it for his wife it was sold to tazzie for 7 grand with everything the car was mint and had everything
10 grand is up around 4wd territory and the rwd stuff is getting harder to sell i have noticed

Have a look in the back of an auto action mag. The classifieds will give ya a good idea of what race cars are worth. 4wd turbo's are usually in the high teens for anything worth buying ie. not in need of a total overhaul. What are you going to do with the AE86? Flog it off or compete in it?

Just to throw 2c in.. I've seen a couple of AE86 rally cars (one sprinter, one trueno coupe) up for sale in the last year. One was asking mid, and the other was after high teens.. (this is what they were asking mind you - No idea what they each ended up fetching).
If the car was built in '93 the harnesses are probably more than likely past their use-by date (for competition use). Also fire extinguishers and other things would no doubt need replacement. It seems fairly cheap though - Considering the things that would probably need to get fixed up before it could be rallied again it would be the sort of thing to think about for Non Speed events like motorkhanas etc..

she for the forest mate there is no selling her cant wait just have to build another 16v like the 1 i sold ben in rally car
i will probally have to spend another 3 to 4 grand to make her right on top of it so maybe just a stock 16v for the moment

Gotta agree with you there Paul. From what I've seen anything in very good condition is going to be most definitely in the teens. Anything less will be a poo cart that needs another 5k of tidy ups anyway.

Well it sounds like it's a good thing if you're getting it for that sort of money. Don't know what it's like down there but up here in SEQld its a combo of loose shaley gravel/rocks and some full on two wheel rut grassy tracks, the grass is the scary stuff. Stoked that you're gunna have a go in the sprinter though........nice work.

Probably about 8-10ish depending on the condition of the engine.
johnny mine only looks ok on the outside because its been resprayed recently 
just dont look at the chassis rails 
ben.

Well if Ben is worth $8-10K we'll work on $9K from that take off what the engines worth- good rebuild $3K, so $5-7 depending on what has to be done to get it to A1 again.
