And, yeah, and the brakes look dead sexy!

Did that diff come factory with disc brakes on it?
Just curious about the size of the bearings..........they look big.
Disc brake diffs usually have much larger wheel bearings than drum brake units.
BTW......very nice engineering work.....looks shit hot too!

Very tidy. Glad a few people have cottoned on to the MA70 rear brakes onto the Hilux diff thing.
Did you use the article in the repository at all?

My Toyo EPC only goes back to the very early eighties and doesn't show the earlier 27 series Hilux but any Hilux and most other Toyota's after that, have the same unit. The number is 90930-03031 PLUG, BREATHER (FOR REAR AXLE HOUSING).
The same unit is still used today.

No. I heard of this being done so I just grabbed the bits and pieced it together.
I attached the MA70 backing plates to the diff housing different to everyone else because my way looks better I reckon

one problem you have nothing to support the wheel besides the studs so your going to be breaking wheel studs and not be able to get it engineered (by any decent engineer)

Thanks Steve.
MB, The front brakes are being worked on as we speak. Photos comming soon
Allan, the shocks clear the calipers with plenty of room to spare. The brake lines were the only problem but they are sorted now with how the braided lines are set.

Digging this old thread up....
Shane what are you doing for a handbrake?
Are the MA70's internal drum or are you running a hydraulic unit?
What is the actual rotor off? MA70 also?
Cheers

The MA70 has an intenal drum handbrake which i'll be using with the standard TA22 handbrake cable.
The rotor is MA70.
