HOW GOOD DOES THAT FEEL!!!!!!!!!!!
i spent the ENTIRE night printing and collating my thesis the morning of the due date. then got it bound at officeworks on the way to uni. ive never felt so proud in my life.
congrats dude, it really is an achievment

i'm getting a trailer and doing the rounds
1- funny thing is.. it's been so long since i WASN'T doing a thesis.. i honestly can't remember what it used to feel like..
after all, it has been
SIX AND A HALF YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!
marking will take around 2 months, probably 3.
mark is either:
Pass - no corrections
Pass - typos
Pass - minor corrections
Pass - Major corrections (ie rewrite)
or.. "You really fucked up"
PML. i'm going to physio on monday to try and get rid of my "academics back" (no seriously.. i am!!!!)
heh heh, well the 4 copies i submitted weighed around 7kg.. that'd make a nice BBQ starter my arms are just tired from carrying the things around today!
hmm... well, the PDF will be around 100-120 MEG... so if anyones keen i might put up a few of the prettier piccies tho..
LOL, it's taken me THREE DAYS to print... and around $350-450.
crashed the uni print server three times (maxed out the pagefile?) apparently sending 200meg to a print queue is not a good thing
thanks again no doubt i'll carry it around with me for a few months to show any poor sod who agrees to have a looksee

apologise for the size... smaller than they were
colony of lamellar M23C6 carbides terminating at the high angle boundary of the discontinuous precipitation front.
alloy is Fe-25Cr-20Ni. has been nitrided at 1000C for 10 mins than carburised for 40 minutes. has been metallographically polished and then deep-etched with Aqua-Regia (basically nitric and hydrochloric acids) to remove 5 micron depth of alloy, but leav the carbides so they are 3D view.
Focused ion beam image of two "electron transparent" regions that were later examined in Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM). these areas are about 100 nanometres thick, and were prepared by Focused Ion Beam (FIB) miller
FIB image of a large area, prior to thinning for FIB. sample thru thickness here is about 10-15 microns, the flat area is around 50microns wide. to the left is the lamellar carbides of a carburised "pre-nitridation" region. int he middle is finer lamellae of the "displaced nitrogen region". these were formed as Cr2N from the nitrogen displaced by carbon, but were later changed back to CrN and M7C3 by the inwardly diffusing carbon. to the right are carbides that have formed, but failed to continue the discontinuous precipitation mechanism initially established at the nitridation reaction front....

I know the feeling of a thesis hanging over your head
I did the same thing as ed. Fixed up the typos on the due day, mad scramble to get it printed and bound... got it all in a whole 2 hours before it was due

At least you didn't have to deal with hundreds of primary school kids to complete yours

Congrats dude. Must be a great feeling. Now get the 2ZZ in the Rolla.
Thankfully, I'm led to believe I can just slot my papers together as chapters, link them together with an introduction and a discussion and it should (fingers crossed) be right. Hopefully, with the papers being published (and hence peer reviewed), it should just be a case of tidying up typos etc.

yahuh,... lemme see... i have 3 megasquirts, 1 4KE EFI setup, 1 7KE EFI setup, 3 fuel pumps, 5 sets of injectors, 8 4K blocks, 5 big port 3K heads. 4 cars...... and possibly a T25 on loan
some of this shit has finally got to come together..
yeah the little shitbox will probably be there to watch in the arvo... not ging to try and embarrass any 4AG's this time
