Im having a problem keeping the thing cool, its sortoff ok now but I dont think it will handle the summer heat. Im using a new radiator so no blockages there and 2x 12" thermo fans. Is anyone else using a set up like this? Any problem etc?

Maybe you should go back to stock radiator and fans? i never had a problem with stock.
Also i changed my oil to castrol syntec 5w-30 rfom mobil1 5-50 and my car seems to run cooler, also takes a hell of a lot longer to get upto operating temprature.

My fans are controlled by the Wolf computer, they switch on at 99 degrees. Im having the problem when going up a long hill just say at 60km/hr the engine temp has reached 110 degrees. IS THAT HOT??? Even at this temp tho the water temp guage in the dash is still below half way. While crusisng my water temp is about 97 degrees. When im waiting in traffic the fans would come on and then go off bout 2min later. I can't fit the mechanical fan back on or the shroud coz of my intercooler piping...

JZ engines run an 82C thermostat. Early 7MGTE's ran an 88C thermostat and later on ran an 82C (This is the Aus delivered MA71), unsure about the JDM models, they possibly ran an 82C straight off the bat.
My 2J ran around 6-8C cooler than my 7M using the same radiator (Measured using a digital thermometer and a thermocouple in the top radiator hose).
I ran a single Davies Craig 16" thermofan and never had any temp issues.

also watch your fuel mixtures runing to rich or too lean will cause it to heat up aswell

if yr fans come on and off during idle /stopped or not much revs
then yr prob could be in mechanical
something is making temps rise to much when on heavy load
or u could have a blocked radiator
so when u r movin fast the cool air flowing thru the radiator is not working properly
have u got a massive intercooler which might be restickting flow to radiator

Distilled water at sea level boils at 100 degrees, but proper coolant in a pressurised cooling system will boil at more like 105 degrees. Either way, 99 is too close for comfort!

Just pulled my thermostat out and its a 88C so my 1st step will be getting a 82C thermostat, next step will be putting the under tray on. I got to make a aluminium tray that will go from the F/Bar under the intercooler etc to direct more air through the intercooler and radiator. While moving at 60km/h normal driving (no big hills) my temp will stay at 97. Im 99% sure my radiator and mechanical side of thing are ok. How have people overcome the problem of the intercooler restricting air flow to the radiator? Allan just got the car driven tuned so I dont think it would be fuel mixtures!!! Better not be anyway:(
Thanks for the help fellas.

I went down to my local parts "specialist" and asked him if I could have alook at the specs between the MA70 and MA71 thermostat, he told me that the MA71 has a 88c and the MA70 has a 90c thermostat. I told him to shove it and got him to order me a highflow 82c thermostat... I had alook at the splash tray and noticed that it bolts upto the bumper so I wont have to make a aluminium one

All the thermostats that I have from 7MGE and 7MGTE are 88C so ill pass trying those. My 88C that I had in the car was new so thats not a problem.
