a hoi hoi

i've set up my head unit but the accessories aint working cos my stuff on the head unit ain't resuming.

So am i able to just connect a clean wire from the accessories of the head unit to the ignition switch?

and if i could is it easy access for wiring, like should i be able to just solder on the wire on the back of the ignition switch or do i have to do something else

thx

When ever i'v put a head unit in i just start poking wires with a test light while turning the accessories on and off and find power that way.

There should already be a circuit in the dash for this very purpose. Try to get a circuit diagram for your car and you'll be able to work out which wire it is. Definitely don't solder any wires directly to your ignition switch; as a last resort you could run a feed off the accessories circuit from the fuse box, but the best way to do it is to find the original circuit for the factory radio.

Look at the wireing at the back of your head unit. There should be a couple of adaptors to change the power options. You might be able to run both the accesories and permanent live off the one permanent live feed.
