I gotta have the weirdest problem with ignition.

Me and my friends are so astonished. Can you help?
Motor: 3T with electronic ignition. (Bosch coil from Saab, Ford Sierra igniter, electronic dizzy from later model 2T.)
Problem: spark hits through coil! and coil HT wire. It's not some occasional small spark but inch long huge arch wandering all over. Normally it gets ground from either + or - terminal of coil.
What I have already tried: New and another coil, new and another rotor, new and another distributor cap, another set of HT wires, new spark plugs BPR6EY and BP5ES, I also added extra earth wire from head to battery.
Problem occured gradually and has gotten so bad that it's impossible to drive when it's raining due to humidity, I guess?
There is also bug problem. The spark firstly fawns bugs there and then stuns them so that bugs starts to act as a new ground for the spark and problem gets even worse until I remove these mosquito's, flies, dragonflies and god knows what. Weird anyway. I have a video cut of that "spark".

Sounds a bit like your getting more voltage out of the coil than the coil is designed to take so it's arcing all over the place.
Have you tested the voltage on the primary ? Maybe it's getting the full 13 or 14 volts while you are driving and needs a balast resistor to drop it and hence drop your secondary voltage that goes tothe spark plugs. Ususally only have full voltage on startup when the starter is sucking heaps of power out of the battery anyway and you need extra voltage on the coil.

i agree, try nicking someones ballast resistor and see if it makes any difference.. you must be either getting some large voltages at the coils high tension, or the coil is 'leaking', or you have poor atmospheric conditions!!!
good luck!

i have the same problem, i have PFR6J-11 plugs gapped down to .8mm, and i have a ballast resistor, is this an ok setup

I came to conclusion that I wont need ballast resistor because this coil I now have doesn't use one in the first place. But I might give it a try. Measuring voltage of primary coil is tad dangerous because of this "spark" and I don't like the idea of breaking my multimeter.
