does anyone have the torque settings for 4AGZE head bolts?
I belive there's an initial torque, then two stages to a particular angle (further 90 degrees).

The sticker that says so is still stuck to the side of my engine - I'll take a gander tomorrow

Yeah, same as mine... I think the idea is tighten it so far, then + 90 degrees? Try 4agze.com or club4ag

I'm not sure about the tighten to setting then plus 90, as once you have tightened to the right torque setting (with torque wrench) there is no need to go anymore.
On the 4age/ze head the exhaust side head bolts are 4.25 inches long and on the intake they are 3.45 inches long
the sequnce of tightening looks like this
front of car/engine on the left
8,4,2,5,9
10,6,1,3,7
They need to be set to 44 Ft-lbs
Hope that helps

That's right... 44! I came across and old head gasket packet today with that still on it.

Are you SURE? I'm not discrediting your info, just interested in the source of it. I really dont want to guess this one, its just odd that the instructions on the valve cover clearly show 300kg/cm + 90deg + 90 deg.
44 foot pounds aint much torque, especially for stretch bolts.

Also, isn't the final figure 72 or something like that?
