Hi guys, hows it going. Just have a few questions regarding the mighty silvertop 20v.
What kind of oil should I be using? The engine has done something along the lines of 100,000 km or more. I was thinking a thicker oil should be better?
What kind of fuel consumption are you guys getting? Seems like mine is 10L/100km. Idles abit high too, around the 1000-1100 region.
Also wanted to clean the throttles with nulon carby/throttle cleaner. Is this just unbolt plenum, spray throttle bodies, clean up gunk, bolt back up plenum and start car?
Thanks heaps guys. Have some more questions but can't think of them right now.

Don't clean the t/b's with carby cleaner. Take the trumpets off and clean them with a rag.

Yeah opened her up, saw the trumpets and thought wtf? Why are they there? Will taking them off allow for better performance? I was thinking it was so all four have equal airflow and reduce naughty things going in them.
Looked good, the throttle bodies and butterflies. Found a decent amount of oil though, on the base of the intake plenum and on/in the trumpets.

dont remove them, they are there for a reason, the engine will run like poo without them.. u can go for a replacement trumpet with a bell mouth for slighlty better flow, but the plenum will most likely need to be modified in a silvertop.
