AE82 wheel specs Sun, 27 June 2004 04:34 Go to next message
Hi guys, sorry if this has been asked here before.

I'd like to know the AE82 wheel specifications and what rim/wheel specs I should look for when buying a set of alloys/mags? I own an AE82 Sedan 1986.

I'd like to know the PCD, offset, etc. of the stock wheels and what specifications i'll need to look for on aftermarket wheels to fit.

Thank heaps

Standard 165x75x13
Can go 185x60x14
Recommend 195x50x15 on a 6" rim.
I think the offset is 38mm.
PCD is 4x100mm
Can go 215x40x16 on a 7" rim but you will likely get scrubbing problems on the body. Plenty of people around on 16" and even 17" rims though.
Still recommend 195x50x15 for balance between ride and handling.

standard rim is 5". Be careful with offset as same offest i.e 38mm on a 6.5" compared to 5" means the wheel sits out half of 1.5" (i.e .75" ~ 20mm) further, which can cause scrapping on the guards etc. So in wider rim you may have to look for larger offset, but then you have to be careful about clearance with shock tower etc. I'd try not to go bigger that a 6" rim.

I had problems with fouling on guards running 6.5" 35mm offset rims with 195/50s fitted (AE82 seca)
