i am wondering is there physical difference(i can see) between a
*EFI fuel tank
*carby fuel tank with a intank EFI bump
so that i know if it's possible to run the petrol to very low.

uhmm I was under the impression from the ones i have seen that there is a round baffle for the EFI pump. otherwise they are identical. I think theres a pic of one at club4ag somewhere

damn secondhand information
i could be wrong, but if there's a baffle, why does my car get starvation when low on fuel?
i have a JDM 86, with what i assume would be a JDM EFI tank

how low?? even a factory baffle may not stop the most aggressive cornering at low levels, are you 100% positive you have an EFI tank?

but to answer the question, i keep my non baffled intank pump fed with a minimum of roughly 1/8th of a tank and dont get too many surge issues at that level at all.
any lower and its another story

anything under 10 litres does it(love those digital clusters ).
the car hasn't been modified since getting here from japan, and it's definately an AE86, not AE85, so i'm getting from this that it's an EFI tank.
