stuttering/missing on cold startup
Tue, 29 June 2004 03:12
hey guys, its not a toyota BUT it is my run around car. Its a 89 honda civic with a carby motor. On startup it stutters and misses untill its warm, usually black smoke comes out too when its started. After driving around untill its at operating temperature everything runs fine. What could it be?

THAT WOULD BE ABOUT RIGHT , IT JUST DUMP FUEL FIRST WHICH IS WHY BLACK SMOKE AND WILL IDLE LIKE SHIT AFTER CAUSE IT THINKS THE CAR IS AT WARM TEMPERATURE ( SOME ONE CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG HERE ) , ITS USUAL PROBLEMS OF COOLANT TEMPEARTURE SENSOR , JUST UNPLUG AND GIVE IT A GOOD CLEAN MAYBE ITS JUST SHIT ON THE PLUG ENDS , ORJUST GET ANOTHER ONE FROM WRECKER ,
SEE IF THAT FIXES THE PROBLEM
MAKE SURE CAR IS COLD WHEN DOING IF NOT U WILL GET HOT COOLANT ALLOVER U AND IT FUCKIN HURTS REAL BAD
