Wakefield Park Race Day (Mon 21st October 2002.)	Sat, 07 September 2002 08:31

I have organised a Wakefield Park Race Track day. [EDIT] Date is set: Mon 21 Oct, 2002 Open Practice/No Speed Limit Day - Cars Only. I already have several keen people. As per thread down below I don't care what you drive just bring it along and have fun. I've seen people drive family cars and rental cars last time i went. Its all about fun! You think Old Pac runs are fun. Well, you should try Wakefield. Im sure you will leave with a smile on ure face. Quote from their website: "Wakefield Park is a 2.2km racing circuit. The circuit is located 2 hours drive from Sydney and about 1 hour from Canberra and is positioned on 130 acres of cleared land. There are no trees or natural obstacles near the track." I have opted for a: No Speed Limit Days (Open Practice) Costs: $71.50 for the day $27.50 for a Wakefield Clubcomp Licence valid for 12 months Helmet hire available for $20 per day with a $50 Deposit or simply bring your own helmet. Gin51e: All your questions are answered on their web page. I think all you need is a road registered car and current drivers license. Sammeh: I have 5 people down for it atm. Estimate about 10 or so will be there. Please note that the day will likely be on a Weekday. So you may need to use those accumulated annual leave/ rostered day off or even a sick leave. Since they booked out on weekends for private bookings and GTP rounds etc. Trying for a friday in October. So i will soon let you know. Sorry Ive been busy lately. [Report message to a moderator]

The other option is if we can get 16 or 17 people we can hire the track out for the day, for the same price, and we get the track all to our self.... They are defineately not stock Mirages, they use a 1.6 Mivec engine which produces over 160KW, have big 4 wheel disk brakes, and close ratio gear boxes. I am hoping to get about 1:15 as i dont have that much power but have a TRD close ratia gearbox and LSD, as well as 4 wheel disks. Ok. Finally i have found out suitable dates for this event. Fridays are unavailable unfortunately. As they are privately booked for next two months. I was thinking that a Monday was the next best alternative. Since days in the middle of the week wouldn't suit people's work patterns. So you can all have an extended weekend Dates available are as follows: Mon 21 Oct, 2002 Open Practice/No Speed Limit Day - Cars Only, I need a show of numbers will attend. Hoohoo, I've got that day off! I wish I could commit, but the way my car's been going lately, I have no idea if it will be in a healthy state by then. Ideally, I'll have new tyres, maybe even new wheels, a reco'd gearbox, a strut brace, some new seats, a wheel alignment, a back window that doesn't leak...... all this stuff is on the cards for the near future, and most of it's pretty important for a track day, so I guess I'm gonna be busy. Iam off to Italy for work (kinda!) and I would do anything to see those 2L buzzboxes ripping around the test track, but the one iam really looking forward to is seeing the Ducati factory and test track where i have winged it to get onto a excutive tour and get to take a few of those monsters out for a hit! Ok guys, I went to Golburn today and spoke with the staff at Wakefield Park. I have confirmed our session to them. re. Monday 21st October 2002. You can buy Australian standards approved helmets there for $120 outright. They are nice ones too. Otherwise, bring your own or rent one from them for $20. [Report message to a moderator]

Hi Guys. I would love to go but work committments may interfere.. Monday is the worst day of the week coz i have heaps of weekly reports to analyse. In addition to this my car doesnt have suspension anymore, (stock again) so I will never see 1.16 lap times ever again in my sad-ass rolla. If however i do find my dream car in the next 3 weeks for the right price and buy the babe, I will have to beg for a day off on that day and join you guys for a fangage!!
