like the title says im after the best or the best suited oil to put in my st162 3sge..its just been rebuilt..and havent had time to change the moil and it now has 2500 km's since the rebuild..i am wandering witch is the best oil sutited to my car or just the best bang for buck etc..any input would be great..thanks
p.s is it true if u have the wrong oil it can make a sort of clicking/ticking noise in the engine?..i think i saw it in one of the threads..or could it be my manifold witch is pretty much cracked in half..thanks all
(sorry if the oil thing is already covered can u possibly direct me to a thread?)

id use penrite hpr30. in summer use hpr40.

ok ill get that 1 then..any ideas on cost..ill either get that, mobile 1 or penzoil 20W-50 as majority of ppl have told me different types

mobil 1 runs your engine "too clean" imo...its designed for new motors of todays production line...IMO

HPR30 retails for about $30 a 5 litre thing.

Penzoil is crap. I had no problems whatsoever with my eb falcon until i used that and shell helix...i started to get a cylinder head tapping...a sticky lifter. Went back to penrite and it dissapeared.

yes but this oil runs well for u in a V6 flacon and a V8 supra..would it be fine in the 4 banger? Very Happy i dont know if there all the same etc oil wise??

nah nah it runs in my ma70 7mge supra..and no other running car atm!
It might be run in the v8, but i dont know yet as its a sorta specified motor, and im not sure of its needs.

BTW all falcons are straight 6's! Smile

To answer your question...hpr30 is good for a 3sge Smile
