I picked my car up from Vari flo on Tuesday and drove it directly to my mechanic. I only had about ten minutes behind the wheel, but the 3" exhaust on there made the note much much deeper than the 2 1/4" that had been on there. I didn't give it full throttle, but it did feel more responsive down low and the sound is much better. Should pick my car up tonight so I'll let you know after that Very Happy

I have a nice 2.25" exhaust right through to a highflow muffer at the end, and it performs very nicely.

I think this has been covered before, so search to find more info. I have a 2.5" system purely because that was the diameter of the end of my extractors. With a cat, resonator and a straight through muffler it is too loud.

2.5" should be enough for performance, just add quality mufflers til its quiet enough.

my 2.5 inch system is extremeley LOUD! it came in at 94dB with a 3/4 inch restrictor and a very leaniant noise tester! im investing in a muffler that might actually work soon.

OK I've got mine back, it's a 3" exhaust all the way through. Sounds sensational, and it's not too loud (if I'm not on the throttle Wink). It's possible to drive it around very quietly, and the idle isn't too loud at all. It does get a bit drony going down hills etc, but the guy who made it for me said he would make up another larger muffler for me at no extra cost, and swap between the two mufflers at my leisure. He said that would make it much quieter.
