hey guys
i work at a mazda dealership (first year apprentice) and i was up at spare parts the other day and i was just casually flicking through the accessories booklet they have all the new cars when i was suprised by a particular item.
so lets play a little game. the description is; an illuminated gear knob for a new rx8
see if you can guess the price...

I bet it costs a shitload!
but it will be nothing compared with the shit I deal with in Aircraft electrical component overhaul & repair!
A capacitor (used as radio noise supression), similar to what you would get a dick smiths for 50c... $500...
had a busted starter-motor/generator the other day had to replace the armature... a brand new armature/rotor I quoted to the customer ... $30,000.00 (no typo)

Hmmm, friend works at Mazda... Will try to find out tomorrow... Is it a Genuine Mazda accessory and not a dealer special???
My random guess would be something between $200 and $300...

it is a genuine knob
yeah but genuine parts are a joke
we qouted someone for a electric window motor nothing else $800
i've rebuilt some of the v6 626 electronic dizzy's $900 thats just for parts!!! and they take like 10 minutes to do
