you shouldnt limit it to KE corolla's
what about the AE people out there?
poor sprinter owners must be really upset over the exclusion

wow cyber-punk we have something in common, i like the wheels too! haha just jokes, well all i gotta do is get em polished up and they'll look a hell of alot better, oh and fix one of them, its got a buckle, but its not very serious i cant even notice it cause when i got the new tyres i got em balanced really well.
got a fair few plans for the car but gotta get this celica sorted first, if i dont get the celica then there will be a hell of alot more progress on the car in the comming month hopefully.

Picked up the Ke70 on friday night. I drove it today, my god that is a car that is craving for more power. No matter how much throttle you use it makes more noise but doesn't really set the world on fire. Thank god for the wonedrful 2.4 he blessed me in the form of a corona. hELLO TO low down torque and acceleration.

more power, to be sure. the ke70 is too heavy, however, and this is the primary reason for it being so slow

Another way to look at it would be
a) ke30 2t-g twin carb = period look
b) ke30 4a-ge efi = more power straight off, little lighter then the 2t-g and its a more modern motor.
Me, i'd go for option a
Thats what i'll be doing soon but with a ke25.
If you go for the 4a-ge you might be better off using a celica g-box. I don't think the t50 would handle the power for too long.

Hey KE35-4AGZE & Darren, you both seem to be running T50's.
Any reliability issues as I think both these setups would be a bit quicker than mine will be.

I was saying about the 100Kw version. Which i thought would have been on the limit for what the T50 could handle power wise. But if your saying a 4agze has one backed up to it with no problems, then hey i'm wrong in what i said.

No probs
I have no experience with these gearboxs myself so I just wanted to get some feed back from those who have.
Don't want to fit a gearbox only to find it can't cope .

They are Rebels, the 5 spoke version. You can also get 4 spokes which I would have preferred but you are hard pressed to find them these days. I don't think they make them any more and I think they were aussie made. 13x7's with 205/60/13

Good morning boys and girls.
Just thought i would drop by and let you all in on my car.
I am the owner of a 1977 KE-30 sedan, mustard gold in colour ( with rust) stock rims with chrome ring things attached ( cant thing of the right name 1:11 am), rides at standard hieght no suspension mods yet but soon. The fun arrives with the 3T i installed in the car 2 months ago and a tight T50 gearbox, running through standard diff (i dont do stand stills, and that makes it last) and also standard exhaust but not for long either.
Future: Slotted T18 brakes on front, 2" exhaust (52mm for those who need metric),stock height hardened springs on front, new rear leafs, rust repair and respray mustard gold.
Way in the future: A sterio set up but nothing fancy
Just think i dont even have a radio in the car.

Hey KE35-4AGZE & Darren, you both seem to be running T50's.
Any reliability issues as I think both these setups would be a bit quicker than mine will be.

Sorry Brad, haven't looked at this thread for a few months. Thought it had vanished.
My T50 wouldn't be a very good example of their reliability, all the gears are aftermarket and straight cut. It's a lot stronger than a stocker. The car makes 110kw at the wheels and it takes it without a problem.
EMP-2TG - When I get the car back i'll take some pics if you're still interested.
Darren.

Hi there pplz...
I'm fairly new on this also
Have a ke55s
totaly stock, but want to start doing some decent mods.
Anyone here in Adelaide got any bits to part with? Cheap...
I also have a ke70
just sitting in the shed. I have taken the gearbox out as its a 5spd, is it fairly easy to put into the ke55, or is there a few things I need to change. Is there anything else on the 70 that I should take off to put on the 55 as an upgrade. the ke70 is 1981 as far as I remember and my lil Coupe is 79. I'm more of a mini buff, but recently converted to the ke55 as I'm sick of getting stuck in the rain with mini faults....
I have read a good few threads, but I can't seem to find the info needed to do the 5spd transplant...
Thanks guys...
