Best 17" tyre for high performance TA22?

Hi guys,
Im not to sure about what tyres I should be putting on the back wheels. At the moment I have a TA22 with an FJ20T and it is a street car. Facts are that the rims are a 17"x7" with 205/40/17 Falkens, full suspension setup on rear and the bad fact for the tyres is 300 rear wheel hp. I've heard the best production road tyre is the Bridgestone SO3, anyone know any equally good other brands in high performance range? Could a race tyre be the way to go or the major factor of getting and losing heat from these types be a distinct disadvantage.
Thanks

Hi Phenom,
It sounds like you have a nice TA-22. Love to see some pics, or even see it in real life if you are in Melbourne.
As far as tyres go... if you want something sticky, then I would go for a Formula-R type tyre. I am running a set of Yokahama A032Rs which are the "standard" tyre for the IPRA racing category. (http://www.ipravic.com.au)
A friend is running a set of D01Js (another Formula-R type tyre) on his 265rwkw(355rwhp) S6 RX7 & is very happy with these too.
Check out http://www.stuckey.com.au/new/racetyre.htm#D01J for some more details on sizes etc...
Hope this helps,
