5K Carby onto 4K Manifold Fri, 09 July 2004 02:14 Go to next message
hey
im looking at putting a 5K carby onto my 4K, as my 4K one is rooted and i really cant be bothered getting it recon'd, so iv picked up a 5K carby for pretty much free. What parts on the each of the Carbs will i need to swap over to make it fit on work correctly and do i need any extra hose piping etc ?

bah..who cares about the emissions crap, theres some parts on the 5K carb, that the 4K carb doesnt have, how important are these parts etc, so far, all iv got is the solenoid plug switched over, and the fuel line i think hooked up and the carb bolts in fine, but the vaccumn hoses dont line up, as on the 4K, there is only one, but on the 5K there is about 3 of them, which ones dont i need, has anybody done this conversion before ?

now we're making money off the forum kiddies? hahaha stewart you crack me up Smile

go to toyota dealer service and get photocopies of the emissions diagrams for the 4k-c you have and the 5k-c that the carb is off, and see if you can figure it out. some of that spaghetti is useless, some of it actually makes your car run better

LOL, not if you send it by airmail Wink

look out for yellow books on ebay. i have a large set just from there..although i bought my first from toyota about 10 years ago...

they usually go between $10 and $20

get the one that goes from 2K to 5K

or just work out which vacuum lines are ported vacuum (can tell gy squirting fluid down and seeing where it comes out near the throttle blade) and then just use the ported one...

or just try each one individually for advance and block the others up to see which works best?
