John has a very high level of knowledge about importing and cars in general. When you are importing a car probably the first thing you are concerned about is how reliable and honest the person is. In this case i have found John to display these characteristics profoundly.
If you want to import a car give him a call regardless what state you are in. He is located in queensland and im in melbourne and the whole importing thing worked fine.
And finally, everyone knows him, so hes not going to run away with your money lol
THANKS A HEAP JOHN

Go the carbies ...
Now you just have to find a good tuner to keep them in shape each year ...

Nice car and should be a lot of fun....
In reply to ILUSZN's question - in my experience of importing AE86's this car will not meet ADR standards. The carbies will have to be taken off and the original computer and EFI gear fitted. The carbies do not meet EPA requirements.
It is wise to check all these requirements before importing to save all the hassle. Any car can be imported but getting it on the road is the biggest problem! Not many importers will tell you this.
However it shouldn't be too hard to fit all the EFI gear just a bit of mucking around.

In response to what pro K was saying, about the car not complying with ADR standards because it was a carbi instead of EFI.
I was able to get an engineer's cert. for the car, and im in the process of gettin the roadworthy,
so im a happy chappy

No.
Carbs can make as much power as EFI if tuned right.
But carbs are more difficult to tune and go out of tune, where EFI doesnt.
