4agze No Idle

I finally got my 4agze running but it only runs for 5-10 seconds max. If I don't give it any throttle it will die withing a few seconds and can't keep it going much longer than that with throttle. What does it sound like?

Just saw this and your other post with pics.
One thing I noticed is that you've got the intake pipe onto the throttle body flipped 180degrees so it fits RWD. Have you still got the throttle position sensor plugged in? I found I couldn't plug mine in unless I made a spacer to lift that intake pipe up a cm or two.
The TPS has 4 wires to it, +5v, earth, signal, but importantly also a wire which senses if the throttle is fully closed. If the TPS is not plugged in, maybe the computer isn't realising it should be idling.
Hope that helps

Do a search. This has been covered a few times.
You are not alone though, my GZE won't idle cold. Also sometimes it will die even if it's been running for half and hour. Just one of those things. Some people in other threads have said that new plugs will fix it, but it did nothing for me.

a lot of the time my mechanic spent tuning it was trying to fix that problem and the idle that was climbing up and down, but couldn't get it perfect. The climbing is gone but it doesn't like the cold starts.

Getting GZE's to idle properly on the standard computer with an fmic and a pulley is hard enough.

gze's will idle ok even on fmic if wiried and plumbed up ok
its only when made into rwd setups people dont do the plumbing correctly or the wiring is when it causes problems
i have wired up afew and after abit of adjustments i have gotten the things to idle ok as long as the plumbin is sorted out because once u modify the intake u have to redo the hoses so once u hook the hoses up as they were then it should be ok

Seriously, i dont know what you guys are having problems with. My GZE idles perfectly with a big FMIC and HKS pulley.
That said check the ECU and engine grounds out, ive seen (and stuffed up personally) the grounds before.

I'm with Takai - I had plenty of idle hunting issues but it takes a little patience to hunt down the air leaks.
Make sure the TPS is correctly set (all the resistances are in range).
Is your Idle control valve connected? And is it ok - are the resistances in range?
Make sure your intake is sealed, especially if it has been reversed.
You've replaced your water temp sensor which is good but have you got the air bubbles out? This will cause hunting.
And lastly, one I found almost by accident, make sure the O-ring for the dipstick seals correctly. I replaced my mine and many idle issues were resolved. I put it down to being one of the last leaks in the engine.
Just my 2c
