one night the brake lights decided to stop workin,
i checked the 'stop' fuse, ok
check for the brake light voltage going into that 'failure' box - no voltage when brake applied.

What do you do now? Fix it! How? Get out a multimeter/testlight, find the fault, then fix Evil or Very Mad Start with the obvious stuff like the switch on the pedal

Yes the switch is a likely option. It's adjustable, so it might just need adjusting so it contacts the pedal properly.

i think the lamp failure box is faulty (fully burnt)
there's voltage in the connector when the switch is on. could that box cause the brake light to fail? are they cheap to replace
