Fuel cap should have a pressure release built into it, i say replace the cap or drill a TINY hole in the one you have.
Um your tank should already be quiped with a breather, and the purpose that serves is to stop your tank becoming to pressurised when you fill it up. Otherwise you would be standing at the petrol bowser with the pump clicking the shit out of it self. I wouldnt go drilling holes in your fuel cap its ment to be pressurised when the cap is on. Your tank venting is done via the tank vent line which runs to your charcoal canister. You are not ment to have fuel vapour spilling out into the air. Check your charcoal canister for a clog or your tank vent lines.
