MA61 - Too much Vibs @ 140Kph Mon, 09 September 2002 11:21 Go to next message
Hey All...

My MA-61 has too much Vibrations @ 140Kph. Does anyone have another idea? I lost control of the car a few weeks ago and hit the kerb with the left front (@ a slow speed) , could be the reason why? I have had the front end alignment and wheel balance done and it still vibrates...

Cheers.

check all your bolts that connect the drive shafts to the diff, gearbox ect... happens on mine when bolts start to get a little loose where the drive shaft connects to the diff.

just a suggestion Cool

How did i lost control? Dark night, bucketing down with water in familiar territory on a slippery surface... Recipe for disaster.

CHeck for a buckled rim. and where did you get the alignment done??? i have had problems with certain tyre mobs in the past and have found that Beaurepairs do a blody good wheel alignment and balance. before mine was vibrating badly at about 150 after the alignment and balance it is rock steady at 200

also do you just feel the car viabrate or do you feel it through the steering wheel?

my dads car went in to (sad to say Crying or Very Sad )Toyota for a service came back and it had shocking viabrations through the steering wheel, had a look at the front wheels and they had done a wheel balance and we noticed the lead weights had been put on the oppisit side of the wheels as they were when the car went in.

took it back and got them to put the weights in the right spot.

I get the vibrations through the whole car as well as the steering column. I have had the wheels and tires aligned, balanced and rotation done straight after the my misfortune...
