Putting 2 inch shorter springs in with the stock shocks will make it one very stiff and bumpy ride.....
Will look pretty cool but is not real practical.
I know, I did the same thing to my old ST162 celica. The shocks were pretty much fully compressed perminently at the front... which didn't leave much room for things like bumps in the road.
It will handle like a go cart on nice smooth surfaces.... but these only really come on race tracks these days.
Eventually I hit a block of concrete lying in the middle of the Princess Hwy that appeared between the rear tyres of the car infront. Had no time to avoid it and it smashed in to something under my car (sump, crossmember?) and I got a little air. When I landed it snapped a spring.... so I had to put the old ones back in.
If you want my opinion, wait till you can get shocks to match.... If you can get the springs cheap... go for it but keep your originals incase something goes wrong or you don't like it.

I also have an AE92 with 15" rims, and have lowered it 40mm. The only problem I had was the front mudflaps scraping on the smallest speed bump. I took the mudflaps off (and it looks better anyway) and have no problems with ground clearance. It could probably go much lower, but practicality must come in to play sometimes...

I have a lowered AE92 Hatch... It's been lowered 1" and scrapes everywhere... The mudflaps, exhaust and other components under the car... I put it in the wash bay at work and scraped all that plus the sills under the doors (Where Car Jacks Go)...
A ground scraper is a pain in the arse but I like the feel of a lowered car that gives a hell bumpy ride... My back will probably be rooted in a few years though...

i lowered mine about 2 inches mudflaps scraped everywhere fixed that problem by taking them off
as far as scraping now only if i have a full load or a frigging huge 4x4 speed hump
