igniter problem

Ok everyone,
what would be causing an igniter to fail after about 3 hours of running ??
im sure its gone again, and im all out of ideas

coil pulling too much current and burning it out?
what is the resistance of the primary winding of the coil you are using vs the stock coils primary winding?
might need to use a ballast resistor in series to reduce the coils current capacity?
just a thought.. there's a big difference between 5amps and 10amps through a transistor..

Yep, the car is going to stewart wilkins tomorrow to see if they can diagnose why ???
wernt really pushing the car hard at the Khanacross yesterday and during one of the runs it just stopped again.
But at least we got to have a little of fun in the wet

has to be a dead short on the body somewhere, maybe contacting on vibration or something?
