4 speed autos for corona st141 ????

hi
i am just wondering if st141's came with 4spd automatics and if there are any 4spd automatics that will bolt in and how much they are going for

I have no idea if ST141's came with a 4-speed auto, but the SA63 Celica (~1984 I think) has one which should bolt into your Corona with a bit of work; you'll probably need a custom tailshaft though.

I concur with Norbie. The Avante RT141(?) I think had 4 speeds. The SA63 does have a 4 Speed Auto. If you went ahead with the conversion, you need the shifter thingy for the inside because of the Over drive button the box and bell housing. I don't know what else is required as a mate has a 5 speed manual.

yes but it was not standard -
it was an option in the top of line cs-x only.
all other 2S's had a 3spd.

Don't bother with an RT14x gearbox as they bolt to an R motor (hence the R) not an S motor. Suggest you do a manual conversion, believe that there was a 5sp available in some ST141 models (just cruise a wrecekers and look at a few.. then tell them to pull the gear out of that particular car!)

just to make it clear, there was a 4sp auto for the 2S, it was an option only on the csx.
