i wanna get an idea of what would be a good engine to put in my mark 2 coupe. the 4M weighs 200kg roughly, and i want a good engine that would balance the car a bit better and make it handle a bit better. i just the v8 sprinter forum, they mentioned the 1uz weighing 165kg, is this right? let me know what you guy's think. by the way, i can't post pics, why?

You might be able to sneak a 1UZ in the engine bay if you use the Crown 1UZFE exhaust manifolds and use the non power assisted steering box.
That is all.

I'd be going 1UZ for sure.
And yes, the weight is around 175kg, with all acc's.
Lighter since you won't be using the powersteer pump, or the aircon unit.

I'm not sure what sump you will need, but you can always source one later.
If you plan to remain auto, just go out and get the first/cheapest cut you can get, or get a complete engine + trans package
Expect to spend $5000 as a guestimate, depending on how much maintanence you do on the motor.

You need a Crown Royal Saloon sump (midsump).
|
Midsump?
In that case you can buy the cheapest cut you can find, coz all the cheap ones are midsump.
And if you find a front/rear sump cut for a cheaper price, get it, and there are hundreds of unused midsumps rolling around the country.
And then just follows GTs Crown install guide.
It wont be a huge amount different (electronics wise that is)
