Hey guys, way off topic, but still.....
Have any of you guys used iHug's Diamond Advance account? Do you ever get kicked off? I need a permanent link with unlimited time and bandwidth. My current one is very expensive. $55/month. Looking for something cheaper.
iHug's one looks promising as long as I can stay permanently connected (don't really mind redialing as long as it's not too many times).
Anyone?

I was told that they only knock you offline if you've been on for longer than that and only if all the modems are taken...
Need to verify that though.

Down here in the Gong you only get kicked off IHUG after 4 hours if all the lines are full (as far as I'm aware). Proof of this is my 10-14 day uninterrupted phone calls that I regularly get.
Not sure if it will apply in Sydney though.

Yeah. IHUG's pretty cool. And agree with what the others have said. Only get kicked if the modems are full.

i had to change from dingoblue to ihug, and compared they absolutely suck overcgarged twice, always dropping off, never replying to email (and when they do it's a week late, and they say, we know the adelaide server is having some complaints, it is almost fixed....4 months later!!!) grrrr...
but it is the cheapest unlimited one (but keep getting booted off so doubles my phonebill )

Hmm, sorry to hear about them problems dude....but up here in wollongong, i have had no problems like that....
the occasional outage, where they might be upgrading or fixing something. but thats about it.
the biggest problem i have had with my net, is that my old modem died, that caused my net to drop off heaps, but now with a new one, it stays on for days
Also, most people probly already have this, but to get the most out of ihug internet, i recommend a second phone line.
I have recommended ihug to 3 of my mates now, and as far as i know, they are very happy with it. One of my mates had a total connection time for the month of just over 730hrs....(there's only like 740hrs in a month) hehe

I have IHUG and I get kicked off every night... Sometimes even twice a night... It's a pain in the arse as I have to reconnect all the time and that costs money... I'm trying to convince mum to get cable but she says that she can't afford it... Then I explain that IHUG is slower then ever and it's gunna cost more cause I have to re-connect all the time... Then she just says to stop connecting... I can't win ...
But anywayz, when the modems are at the final straw, they will disconnect you after 3 hours...

i reckon the Home 512/Metro plan for $100 is the best....

iinet have some great plans... only problem is, they block port 80 and 25, so they aren't good for running mail/web servers from home.

Nah, I need those ports open.
The best ADSL I've found is Internode. The $100 plan looks good. 4.5GB down. Unlimited up. No blocked ports.
