Programming new keys Tue, 13 July 2004 09:39 Go to next message
Does anybody know the procedure for programming new keys for the 2000 Toyota Celica? I've read the procedure for the USA (pressing brake/gas pedal a few times, turning keys, etc) but haven't been able to find the procedure for our Aussie cars (it might be the same).

I mainly want to void a lost master key so it cannot be used to start the car anymore.

I'm not too sure on the procedure here but thinking that you might actually have to visit a toyota dealer if you lost the master key...

Cause there are usually two master keys and two sub keys programmed... If you reprogramme a new key, it get's rid of an old one...

I'll ask at work tomorrow if I remember for ya...

If you could find out the procedure that would be great. Also, would you know if voiding the lost master key would mean it cannot use remote key entry to unlock the doors remotely? Or is this a seperate system.

As I said before man, introducing a new keyt usually voids another... You can prolly void one of them but you'll need all three keys present to do it... Like carry out the procedure and hit all three buttons at once and it should hopefuly be as easy as that...
