http://www.geocities.com/feral4mr2/turbo.html

This is feral4mr2's original ZE exhaust mnifold modified for a T25 on his mr2 i want to do the same thing but for my ae82 except im using a T28 do you think the manifold is too long therefor the turbo will sit to close to the ground? Or do you think the clearence will be the the same between the two cars?

the car has nothing to do with it. Wink
same engine, same too low turbo mounting. and most probably same embarrasing oil smoke on idle.. Mad

if you cut it just above/on top of the heat sheild bolt hole you see in the pic, you might be lucky enough to have the 2 lower runners still inline. i cut it a litte bit too much higher than the heat sheild bolt hole when i went to modify it again and the 2 lower runners where moving away from each other making it hard to put a flange on.
to give you an idea of my turbo placement/height, the turbo flange is now inline with the top of the oil filter boss on the block.
whereas before it was about 1/2 way down the oil filter boss.

feral - did you cut and reweld a Cast iron manifold? I know it's not recommended (unless you get correct welding rods etc) doing this but was wondering if you had shonked something up successfully

Wouldn't you have more space to work with in your mr2 compared with the limited space i have in my FWD ie. between radiator and block or is it practicaly the same?

HAHAHA

The MR2 isn't exactly the most spacious engine bay. Just think of the MR2 bay as the same as a corolla bay with a firewall instead of a radiator.

mmmm... with-out getting measurements to compare the pair. Confused

the AW11 has the firewall going away from the engine at the bottom (eg. \). the rolla's radiator is vertical infront of the engine. so i would think we would have more room to play with, but then again with-out measurements to be sure...
