I just bought my self a MX73 Cressida which i am amongst doing a head gasket on, just a few questions, how much do i have to torque down the head, as well as do these motors seem to do head gaskets often or not, and ideas for tax cheque 7m gte or 1jzgte,

Listen to the man...
If your doing a HG replace on the 5M you may aswell upgrade. (as you'll be doing a HG replace on any 7M you buy!)
If my 5M ever needed to be opened up that'd be all the reason I'd need to kick the anchor.

Yup, upgrade time if you can afford it. Beware of the 7M-GTE though; only get one of those if you can budget for a rebuild! Personally I'd go with the 1JZ every time.

As for the head torque, something up in the mid 60's, maybe 72 ft-lbs.
I think thats it.

But a search of the WWW should solve it.

yeah found it on the WWW its 72 N.m thats on a mkii supra which has the same motor in it couldnt find any descent manuals for the MX73 cressy
