i have replaced a 3y engine with a 5mge. now comes the harder part. making it run. I am not electrically minded so does anyone have any advice or experience with setting one of these engines up from scratch?
I have heard that only certain wires will need to be used. is this true?
From what I remember of 5M-GE wiring, it's ridiculously simple. Excluding the wires that go directly from the engine to the ECU, there's only a few you need to worry about, eg tacho signal, starter signal, +12V, ground. Grab a wiring diagram (do a search!) and you'll figure it out in no time.
