just a word of advice. don't expect to see too many RA65's if any at all in campbellfield. Yes there are plenty of RA60's but that is not the car in question and SHOULD NOT be considered the same as an RA65.

FFS get a grip. You always seem to be whinging about something.
I was just laughing at the way maxdamage is really particular about the differences.
If your gonna be a baby then go cry some where else. Everyone seems to get along fine until you start being a dickhead, grow up.

Re: RA65 parts... Wed, 18 September 2002 12:58 Go to previous messageGo to next message
the reason I'm so particular is coz I was in the same situation a while ago as the guy who posted this, (and i still haven't had much luck in finding an indicator), with the same message about there being heaps of RA65's at Campbellfield. I wasted half a f#*$ing day driving there thinking if there's that many then it warrants the drive. anyway i get there, a few RA60's and that's about it. A RA60 is not the same car as a SA63/RA65 in that the front end is f#*$ing different as any knob can tell.

I know, some people have no clue. I wasn't having a go at ya, I can relate to what you're saying. I have an SA63 front out the side, and there is no way you shouldn't be able to tell them apart! Smile

since when was the forum censored? I was just pissed off that day because they are not the same cars and since this is a toyota forum, you believe that people know what they're talking about. I guess this isn't always the case.

I don't know what the deal is, I don't really want to go into it. All I know is he started having a go at me around the same time as when I told him he was silly cos he said he was going to run two GT40 turbos in a sequential setup on his 22RE and was going to have usable boost by 1500rpm.

Come to think of it, that was the same week he was trying to convince me that 4WD Skylines were 95% FWD...odd that...

Ah well, I just come on here to have a good chat with people and help out with info where I can, if some people don't like it, thats their problem.

Seriously though.. let's keep these things on topic eh? Smiley =

ok, can we please put an end to this???

while i'm here, could someone tell me if the RA60 side mirrors are the same, and hence interchangable with the RA65 items? i ask as it seem from information that RA65's are a bit rare in wreckers...

thanks

I'm pretty sure they are the same. Even if they were slightly different but you got two of them, they'd fit so they wouldn't look out of place.
I think there is about 3-4 different styles across the A6X range. There is ones on the Aus Supra, ones on the Celica XX (JDM) and the normal ones from Celicas.

Celicamad85,

As you know (you have been warned many times before), personal attacks are not permitted on these forums. Therefore, we require a formal appology to JCMF for those comments. If you have nothing constructive to say, don't say it.

We would like to see an appology on this thread by tomorrow night, otherwise, we will have no other choice than to ban you for a month.

Max.

The Aus Supras have power mirrors, but their mirrors look similar to the Celicas. Then there is the manual ones that the Celicas have. They both look kinda like this:
http://users.bigpond.net.au/justcallmefrank/origin al/front_quarter1.jpg

Then there are the totally different style ones, electric, that some of the Celica XX's have, like this:
http://users.bigpond.net.au/justcallmefrank/origin al/front_quarter2.jpg

They are kinda short and stubby.

I do believe that the RA60 and RA65 had the same mirrors. I replaced my drivers side mirror with one from a wrecker that was labelled RA60 if that helps (although they probably wouldn't know the difference anyway).
Frank, is that you in the background of your first picture? Smile
Also is that your car or just a picture you found?

There's a RA65 at Pick A Part in Kilsyth but I don't like your chances of salvaging anything worth while though. It's been there for a while now and some prick had already taken the indicator by the time i got there. no offence if it was someone on here Smile
Theres also a ST162 (I think it is), the shape after the RA65 where they went to FWD and also a MA61 supra, but as I said before, there's not much left of these cars.

And yeah, thats my car. Just using it to demonstrate...for some reason, it has two different types of mirrors on it... Smile

nathan,

we have disagreed on many things in the past and we both have different views on certain subjects, it was wrong of me to make personal attacks on you even if you did set out to make me look stupid by making up stories about me, im sure you regret this too

now im sorry we are where we are now and in the future look forward to the both of us talking civil to one another again

sincerely

wayne,

i appreciate the apology, I in return apologise if I retorted with personal attacks of my own.

i wish to state first and formost, that I didn't make up any stories , i have them sitting in my ICQ history from conversations with you. just setting that straight.

once more, I would like to thank you for the gesture, lets not go spack at each other on the forums or ICQ for that matter any more huh? Razz

Nathan

the gt40's involved two regular throttle bodies and a supercharger, it was just an silly idea which would require too much time and money too be made worthwhile, but i wouldnt have expected boost from 1500rpm

before i destroyed my last head, i had the engine idling on 1100-1400rpm with the big cam !

maybe it was the insane cam i had in there for a little while before being replaced with a more suitable cam and then back to the standard cam and then it died, the timing chain had skipped two teeth and i had bent one of the valves

this time the cam is going in by a professional
