Hi i recently bought a 1976 corolla coupe with a 3k-c engine as you would probably know the 3k-c only has 60hp i am looking to give it a bit more go. i was thinking bout a bigger engine but want one that will bolt straight in. i dont want EFI. i did a bit of reserch and it said my corolla came out in america with a 2TG but noticed you need to change the x member a fair bit. i am looking for a easy motor swap something that will give me a bit more HP but something my drive line can still handle. if anyone has any sugestions or comment please e mail me lukeskywalker57@dodo.com.au or post here but e mail would be perfered thanks

For straight bolt-in, your only options are to go for a 4K or 5K carbie motor. The only adjustment is that the headers sit 10mm higher than norm but some have managed to bend the existing headers to fit due to the rubber fittings.

An EFI upgrade would require extra components such as manifold, injectors + fuel rail, ECU, sensors etc.

2TG requires some mucking around + upgrade to T50 gearbox etc.

For more info, just check out Super Jamie's FAQ at the Old Corollas website.

Good luck!
