The Lore/Truth behind the 'story' that is Initial D

I'll start off by saying im a fan of the cartoon. But after watching it numerous times you begin to wonder about the detail of certain aspects of the story. No im not putting it to you all that there was a boy who delivered tofu and became the fastest driver around as being truth.
I've just really began to wonder where the writers came up with this story as I believe IT IS based on some actual events. What facts do I have?. Well as most of the sites I've researched have been in japanese.. not a lot.
But theres certain 'interesting things' I've come across that I thought I'd share (not sure if its news);
Some of you may know that the 'routes/tracks' from the cartoon actually exist in real life. I'll try not to give away plot lines so i wont ruin the story for people who have no idea what im talking about.
Usui, Akagi, Myougi, Irohazaka are areas/slopes/mountainpasses that exist in real life. This is no proof of the story in question occuring. It's just a simple case of writers looking at a map and using a real life area and writing a story around it? right?. Maybe not.
==Takumi's battle vs the Sil80 took place on usui. A defining point of that race was something reffered to as 'The C-121' Corner. Described as (from memory) A tuff corner that seems to have many entry points, but if you mess your speed up you'll find there is only one. This corner exists and is identified by a sign 'C-121' in real life, as it is in the cartoon.

==Takumi's home course known as 'Akina' in the cartoon has certain types of gutters (which also became a vital part of the story) Akina exists, reffered to as 'haruna' in real life?
Photos;
==Takumi's battle against the EV03 takes place on akagi. There is an identifying event in that race that defines it clearly. Does this look familiar?
Photos;
==Takumi's battle against the SW20 takes place on Irohazaka. If there was any piece of road that I would think never existed it would be this. But it infact also exists, down to its 3 bridges at the end!. The key factor in this race? Bunta mentions it to Takumi and we soon find out what it is! Check out the below site with a photo of Irohazaka, and read the caption below it carefully. (the line im reffering to is... In autumn....)

==In Stage4 Takumi takes on a team reffered to as 'The 7 Star leaf' Whats with the name? well its named after their home course. Below is a sign on the 7starleafs home course (which also exists)
Photos;
==Stage 4 battle episode 3/4 is vs the Todou school. This course also exists!!!!
So what is going on here. The biggest hollywood blockbusters dont evan research their historic locations carefully. And yet some low budget (intially) cartoon has gone out and pinpointed areas of mountain passes and large contributing factors of the track and input them in a story? To me that sounds evan more far fetched then the entire story being real. All these facts stacked up I think lead to one thing. (this is my theory) Bunta is based on a real person (some say its Tsuchiya) or perhaps its a friend of Tsuchiyas in real life. In one of the episodes, Bunta gets a phone call from a racer in the pro circuit (his friend) guess who did the voice over? Tsuchiya.. who says 'Bunta your drift evan scared the hell out of me'. I think its entirely possible that in the early mid to 90's. There was a man who drove THESE mountain passes in an AE86 and took out street racers.. be them r32's, evo3's, fd's. Then a story has been created that this guy (bunta) is grown up, and his son now drives his car (but the actual races are based on real events that took place for bunta) if you catch my drift? Tsuchiya is an 'adviser' on the cartoon (interesting). And yes I know the anime is based on a manga. But obviously the people who told that story are onboard for the anime.

The legend lives on. hehe.

Prepare yourself for the inevitable "Get a Life" comments. But I'll say that I have oft thought that there was more to the story that just a story, though the virtually never defeated part doesn't quite hold for me but..

Looky looky what i found. Something tells me there is a truth behind the initial d story. I heard a rumur that the story is based around tsuchiya, ie tsuchiya is takumi. Theres a webpage out there that says tsuchiya pretty much started drifting his ae86 on the down hill against his opponents because it was fun.
