I have a put a 1GGTE (gen 3) in a XA6X celica and have recently bought a HKS single turbo kit for it. Before I put the single kit on, I would like to do an egine rebuild. I was wondering if other people have done rebuilds on these engines? Where can you source the parts (head gaskets, rings, etc) from? and are there any performance parts that anyone can recommend? Your help would be greatly appreciated!!
i have started to do a spare gen 3 up, havent got very far yet. so far i have a genuine head gasket, got a set of big ends, mains and thrust washers from NZ. i have a set of i think 4k rings but you have to machine out the top ring grouve to 1.5 cause the ig is only 1.25. and that is as far as i have got so far.
