KE20 DIFF CHOICES, I NEED HELP

Hey, i am currently putting a 4AGE into my ke20 and i have a sprinter diff that looks like it will be too wide(it is 95mm wider than the stocker). I have been told i will need 25mm spacers each side when i buy wheels, so a diff that is 50mm wider than a stock ke20 one would be ok but i dont wanna get anything wider than that and i dont want to have to shorten a diff.

Hmmm ... if you're after a perfect fit, you'd have to shorten the sprinter diff, no easy way around it. Is it a T or S series diff?
Also, you'll have to upgrade your hubs at the front to 114.3 PCD studs, otherwise you'd be fitting sprinter wheels at the rear and keeping KE20 wheels on the front, unless the front's not stock.
As for spacers, what's important is the offset of the wheels. I am assuming by 25mm spacers you mean the front only because the rear will stick out more with the Sprinter diff?
Don't forget, you may have to get flares if they extend beyond the fender lip.

not sure on the series of the diff sorry, i have front sprinter struts also, so thats no a problem. when i said i need spacers i mean i need spacers for the stocko diff not the sprinter, so they are saying i need an extra 50mm of width to make the wheels look proper, so i need a diff that is 50mm wider than a stock diff or anything shorter than that, that will put up with a 4age. The sprinter diff i have is 95mm wider, so technically it is 45mm too wide. Please name some alternatives to a sprinter diff.

When I had my KE20 I used the wider KE55 diff, but is not great solution have heard of ta22 being put in but don't think that would necessarily be much better. Just but be careful with the fronts my biggest hassle was making the strut tops fit as KE20 was different to later models, but definetly made it easier getting wheels etc with bigger PCD

If your present wheels are low (ie. RWD) offset, try a pair of FWD offset (ie +35) on the rear. Increasing wheel offset by 20mm will nullify 40mm of differential width.

conversion page in my faq may have some ideas for you
http://www.superjamie.net/oldcorollas/
basically: T series, F series, G series hilux, r31 skyline, mazda RX
you could probably use an S series from a ke70, or T series from a T18 without shortening. maybe. the stock diff will last for ages with a stock 4ag, nikki (as in fast fours Rollie nikki) used to give hers heaps of shit and hers was a stock ke55 borg warner. not sure if they have more splines than ke20/30 jap diff, but they probably do
