hello there,
im putting a microtech ltx8 on my 4agte bigport 86kw and was wanting to use multiple coils instead of the dizzy (direct fire system isn't it?). just wondering if the crank angle sensor off a 100kw 4age or 4agze will fit, or if not: what others will, or/and what else do i have to do?
thanks

You can chop off 3 of the teeth on the top wheel in the dizzy, the 2, 3 & 4 cylinders teeth, leaving of course the no. 1 cylinders TDC reference. As far as I understand, the GZE CAS has only one tooth on it's wheel but 2 sensors sitting opposite each other, plus the same 24 tooth single sensor wheel underneath, but the microtech is only wired up to one of the top sensors, so with your dizzy modified as above, you should be sweet.
That's what I did to mine to use with a microtech, but now I'm going to use an Autronic ECU & CDI unit instead, & that also can be wired up to the standard dizzy with this mod.

thanks for your help guys,
i was thinking removing the dizzy completly, as it may interfere with the turbo/mainfold.
what are the major advantages of using this multicoil system?
