I think the Group A 185 boxes have an LSD, wheras the normal ones dont. Not really a help if you are looking at a 205 box.
You could always do it the old fashioned way, find out the gearings (if they are different) and then spin the input shaft and see how much the ouput shaft spins.

For those that want to know.
http://gtfour.supras.org.nz/gearboxpics.htm
Has all the different varieities. ST205 boxes are easy to identify, cause they don't have the selector.

Lance,
For what it's worth, mine is an E151F according to the plate on the firewall.
No reasons to think it's been tampered with.

Lance - your best bet would be to try and source a st205 box if you want to be 100% sure ..
they do pop up now and then - you just have to keep an eye out for them!
ALl RC and Carlos sainz ones though had the better gearbox i think that you are looking for - maybe try getting a St185 RC halfcut from an importer to swap ALL the gear you want into your GT4 .. like Matt's done

I think another half cut might be in-order.
As some of you know i got the car off here, but, alas, needs a few things fixed on it. A new engine might be in order, sooner then later.
*sigh* Im not fussed though, ill give her my love.
Im keeping an eye out for a ST205 box, and there might be one near me, ill ahve to chase it up though.
But for now, thanks everyone for the help.
