How effective are these things??? Do they pick up all types of speed checking devices? ie: handheld radar guns as well as fixed cameras.

Are they legal??? I don't know anyone that has one.

They are NOT legal. If you are found with one you are in with a HUGE fine (cannot remember how much, but remember being shocked at how much).

They are pretty effective, but with laser's it's still a bit dicey.

In the state of Victoria these items are very illegel. You will find that they only work when it picks up that the detection device is in use. (i.e when the friendly cuntstable pushes the button to read the speed or when the fixed camera reads some1s speed) This inturn makes it a very unreliable device to use if you are the only person driving within the detection range of the device.

fines are up in the thousands in NSW for these, and the police have radar detertor (wait for it) detectors. so u pretty much will get caught, cant confirm but i think theyre only in the highway patrol cars???

It used to be $800 in NSW.

VG-2 undetectable though means that the polices radar detector detectors cannot detect it.

I used to have one that was VG2 and never got pulled over.

america's radar technology is was outdated compared to ours. all the australian scanners will pick up anything from the US as our technology is way further ahead in that department so ive been told.

Yeah thats ok, I know that the coppers can detect these things, all you have to do is put it somewhere in youre pocket and they cannot physically search you unless they have a warrant or probable cause for arrest and a magistrate will not issue a warrant if the offence is the suspicion of having a radar detector...

if they are the same as the ones in vic then it does,
lists what it will detect, do a search and see if suits your needs.

can i remind you that speed camera's work of sensors on the road... they measure time v's distance... you can see the lines on the road just after the camera and usually only on one side of the road ( flash from behind ).

So a radar detecter isn't gonna help u with that!
