Mainfreight and Watsons Transport have done well for Rex the last few years.
Alternatively speak to someone who sells engines eg, JMS or Jaustech and ask them if thay can recommend someone.

I recently got an engine from brisbane to canberra. we used a company called 'pack and send'. picked up and delivered to my door for $350. And another tip, if someone in your household has a business and an ABN get them to make the arrangements for you, freight companies dont like to deal with 'private goods'.

Try a removalist company that's advertising for backloading. Try not to tell them what it is but it could be cheaper.

Make sure it fits on a pallet, it shouldn't cost you too much. Backfrieght from Adelaide can be cheap because more freight is moved to Adelaide than from Adelaide. If you can get it to the transport company ot should be cheaper than door-to-door, although far less convenient.
