Corolla - Fuel pump differences.... Tue, 20 July 2004 16:31 Go to next message
For the 4AGE and 4AFE corollas, is there any difference between their fuel pumps?

Is the GE pump stronger? Or are they the same and its only the engine that is different.

Get some sleep first !
1. Call your local Toyota Dealer and make a friend in the Parts Dept, just ask for the part numbers for each of those two pumps.
Or,
2. Go to your local Supercheap, look at a fuel pump cattle-dog chained to the shelf there and you will see what you need to know.....

For example, in the Goss fuel pump book they list the same replacement pump for both the 4A-FE and 4A-GE.
It has the following specs:
Max pressure 99 psi.
Max flow: 284 l/hr
Flow at pressure: 221 l/hr at 36.2 psi at
a test voltage of 13.5v and it drew a current of 8.1 amps.

Not directed at you but I reckon that these Forum's have killed the art of research and investigation that we all used to do, its just easier to ask the question and have someone else answer it.

Also, even though we say we use the Search function, the comment now it that 'its too hard' to read through all the related threads and find the answer you want, so people ask anyway.

Do I see you if I want to buy a hot cheesecake ?

Do you trust the information I have given above in light of all this now ? I may well have pulled all those numbers and 'facts' out of my @rse......

First of all i see where your coming from. I also like the remark about the cheesecake, made me laugh actually, noone ever said something like that before,

Otherwise it was 2.30am, nothing is open, i was curious, its too hard to search such a topic like fuel pumps on google australia, and the funny thing is, i did go to Auto1 that next morning to find out as i already know that is a great place to start my research.

As why didn't i wait, it was on my mind and eating me alive, and i thought maybe some1 who's awake might know. Other than that, the numbers you gave me, well i wouldn't take them as right like you said,

If i fark it up, who's responsible. ME ^_^

Anywayz thanks for the laugh, actually made my day.

I was in a foul mood at the time as another forum member who is (I hope) looking for some parts that I desparately need to finish my 1G-GZE engine, is now ignoring my PM's.
He has told me that he has the bits I need but does now not want to part with them.......
I took it out on you, sorry for that.
BTW, the number's quoted above are spot on, from the Goss Fuel Pump book.
Cheers,
Mitch.
