RA60 : Auto-choke being crap

Hey guys,
Lately, the weather in the morning has been nice and cold. The 21R-C is not liking it. The choke doesn't come on straight away in the RA60 anymore, so when its freezing cold it proceeds to rev at 500rpm. If you manage to get it driving for a little bit, the choke is usually on within a couple of minutes.
Its becoming a problem, as my battery is starting to die, so sometimes after it stalling, she no wanna play ball.
Is there anything simple I can check? I've given the thing a good clean with carby clean, and checked all the connections I could.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Nathan

Auto chokes are stupid contraptions; they're made of metal and they have highly corrosive exhaust gas pumped into them, so it's little wonder they give trouble all the time! Whenever I had trouble with an auto choke (back in the days when I actually had a carby) I just threw it in the bin and replaced it with a manual choke. Just as effective and much more reliable!

I had a problem with an auto choke where the spindle that the chock was mounted on really dirty and had gotten stuck, you could try cleaning this.
