I was just wondering if there was any alternative to the electronic speedo cable. I seem to remember someone saying that the GT4 speedo cable being the same or good to use as a swap.
Can some one confirm this for me.
Yes i am trying to get my speedo working, i have worked out how to get the digital dash to take electronic speedo input, but this would mean that the odometer would not tick over as i would have to bypasss it. If any one has any ideas, my first was removing an electronic odometer from another car and put it in its place.

I have the electronic sender on the box. I'm trying to get the speedo working, and the digital dash. Either both at the same time or speedo first.

Yeah toby, Drazza is trying to get the ST162 digi-dash working, when he has an electronic speed sender in his gearbox.
Basically he wants a cable speedo drive gear, but hasnt been able to find one.

The ST185 and Gen 2 SW20 both had mechanical speedo drives. I replaced my electronic sender on my Gen 3 gearbox with one from an ST185 and it reads speed fine in my AW11.
The ST185 actually uses an electronic sender as well however it screws into a right angle drive. You can unscrew this cable from the sender then pull out the drive pin and simply plug in your normal speedo drive cable.

easiest way is to get an electronic speedo sensor from a gbox that is similar to yrs
it has 3 wires
earth 12 volts ignition
and signal wire
run the signal wire to the wire for the speedo
too easy
if u cant find one i sell electronic speedo drives to suit most toyotas
