cd player decided to not work... Thu, 22 July 2004 06:18 Go to next message
hmmm

in rewiring my foglights, my cd player refuses to turn on now. ive checked the fuse in the drivers kick panel and in the back of the cd unit, they're fine. there is also power running to the cd player (checked power wire with multimeter), and ive attached all the earths etc...

so i just don't get it. i think it did this before, but i can't remember what happened...

if someone could help me out, that'd be nice Very Happy Very Happy

for the foglights you mean?

its just a standard wire, im not 100% sure what it is... i got it from dick smith, told them my application and they said that it was the best wire... its just like normal wires behind the cd player Confused

but the earths and fuses are all fine, and its getting power, but i dont know

its just an entry level pioneer cd player too.... Confused

Nah thats right.......

to tell the truth, i have wired it up this way and have a similar issue, my Headunit will be on but just mutes for a few seconds then comes back on.....

Its odd and something i havent got around to fixing yet.

The system is ground switching, so when you hit high beams the spotties will come on automatically.

Id say the answer is another power source, or a new ground and make the spotlights totally independant of the high beams....that will solve the issues.

is your interior light still working????
the audio fuse in the kick panel is for accesories (ign), so u want to check ur constant 12v source for ur h/unit too. the interior light should share the same fuse. it could be call "room" on the fuse panel maybe.check them all, cant hurt Smile

mounting holes are dodgey....the frame rusts over time

bolt it straight to the tranny tunnel or something similar if possible......or use some steel wool and make sure the mounting surface is paint and rust free.
