So... anybody thrown a 1UZ into an MA61?

There's the question.
Will it fit, are there mounts available, will I have to make my own, headers, will cross member clearance be an issue, gearbox possibilities, results, etc.
I want to know it all.

SEARCH!
Will it fit: Yes.
Are there mounts available: NO
Will I have to make my own headers: Modify stock
Will cross member clearance be an issue: YES - need a front sump.
Gearbox possibilities: Auto with factory computer, or stock W58 with aftermarket ECU.
Results: alot of money spent

Sorry.
The beauty of it is, in buying a Mk2 I have more money than if I bought a Mk3... which is a bit of a plus.
Plus it's a very straight car with all the features, everythign works, a perfect base.
No more posts now.

My mounts MAY work.
I'm still trying to get someone to photograph a set of MA61 and MX73 5MGE block mounts.
But according to an EPC they are the same.
I need photos tho

MX63 and early MX73 had 5m-e's
Most MX73 have 5mge's
And blocks are the same.
I dont know if they changed the x-member at all though

It's not such a bad conversion at all - you keep the W58, you CAN use the factory computer if you so desire, you can get a bellhousing from CRS, I'd highly recommend you ditch the factory exhaust manifolds, and you'll need to make up some mounts. LS400/Celsior sump will fit fairly well. Go do it!

Yes, yes, I know. Everyone's a comedian...haha.
Anyway to answer the question, if you want a manual, buy a Crown halfcut and ditch the ECT ecu. If you want an auto, just buy whatever - auto control is in the ECU so it's less shit you have trace out and rewire. If you're not sure what box you eventually want to run, buy the Crown one. Wiring diagrams for these are absolutely everywhere (thanks to Kdog).
You'll a front sump. The different sumps have been listed a billion times. With regards to engine mounts, you'll probably need to make new uppers, but see if the Crown uppers come close the MA61 lower bits.
The driver's side exhaust is close to the steering shaft, but a decent system will clear.
The manual conversion side of things has been covered a few times too.

Regarding Mounts.
The RH mount is identical for 82-85 MA61 Supras and 81-88 MX6/7 Cressidas with the 5M series engine. Only the LH mount was changed, Slightly beefier.
82 MA61 Supra = 80-82 MX62 Cressida
83-85 MA61 Supra = 83-88 MX6/7 Cressida
So according to that, my mounts WILL work for a bolt in UZA61
Anyone want a set???

CrUZsida?
Give me a set of those mounts.
I may even sweeten the deal by giving you money and paying for shipping.
