mx83 strut/ r33/ coon brake upgrade query

I was wondering today, how big the 4 pot r33 calipers are and how much fluid they are gonna suck up.
Is the ma61 master cylinder and booster big enough? Obviously if its not, the brakes are stil only as good as the amount of fluid fed to them...
The ma61 > ma70 master cylinder has been covered on the celicasupra site, but how about the booster ?
Do lines need to be upgraded to a larger size for the upgrade as well?

i dunno about the 15/16 master cyl being suitable to drive the R31 calipers... but the booster will be just fine as will your brake lines.
booster only helps your foot push on the master cylinder - the ra40 stock-to-hilux calipers only needs upgrade of the master cyl and proportioning valve - lines are more than adequate for shifting all the extra fluid required, as is booster. Your upgrade would be similar improvement in terms of % of increase in fluid requirements. is not like you car is heavier by significant amount ergo needing extra braking effort on the master cyl.
You'll only need to replace booster if yours is leaking.
you may want to get new flexible lines for the front (seeing as they'll be pretty old by now)
btw: am glad you came out of accident mostly unharmed.

the 15/16 bore master cylinder will probably be fine with R33 4 potters. as for the coment about the brakes only being as good as the amount of fluid fed to them, it's a bit off the point. the brakes will work, just fine, it may just require further travel of the master cylinder to supply sufficient fluid to move all the pistons. don't forget too, that a smaller master cylinder will give more mnechanical advantage and the brakes will be very powerful. think of it as a lever and moving the pivot point on the lever, it's the same principle.

Blake, I'll let you know once the brake lines are done on my car.
I have a Mk3 M/Cyl and booster which will be installed if the Mk 2 one is not up to scratch. I have the piston size handy at home. I'll let you know the size tomorrow.
Cheers
